2. Save it to your desktop.
3. Find the Icon on your
desktop and click to open
file or it may just begin
downloading.
4. If it does not begin
downloading find the setup
Icon on your desktop and
Double Click on the Icon
to begin setup. If you begin
downloading, simply click
'Next' until you get to
the window with Installation
folder.
5. Keep clicking along
and it will install.
6. Launch your new Platform
by clicking 'finish'.
7. On the page that pops
up and says 'open account'
click to agree to newsletters.
On the right, where it says
deposit, drop that menu
down and select the dollar
amount that you think you
will be opening a new live
account with.
8. Click next.
9. On next window make
sure Demo server is selected.
10. Click next.
11. Write down your demo
account number and the password.
12. Click Finish.
13. Click Start on Live
Update.
14. Click Update and
Restart button when done
updating.
15. Now you are on the
Platform. On bottom left,
click 'Trade' tab and you
are ready to begin trading.
16. Adjust your Platform
by dragging down on the
bottom grey line to have
more room on the bottom
to see all your open trades.
17. Minimize the Platform.
Find the shortcut that you
just downloaded on your
desktop. Right click on
the Icon. Click 'Rename'
Re-name it 'demo1' so there
is no confusion.
18. You are good to go.

The Pips Miner catches mostly trending
moves during the London session. It was designed for the
EUR/USD 5-minute timeframe.
Recommended by Scott at MT247, the
Extended Edition (EE)
version is the best, and you can buy a 30 day trial or
the full version....I just purchased the full EE version
for 249 Euros and found I can use it on two different live accounts.
Pips Miner loves trends. It's almost
always trading in the direction of the trend, grabbing
nice entries on the small retracements during the move.
So when you have a nice, big EUR/USD movement like we've
had for the past month, this is the perfect trading
environment for Pips Miner. Since April 12th the EUR/USD
has fallen nearly 1100 pips.
1) How can it be profitable with
such a bad risk to reward ratio?
The answer is the high probability of the trades. The
risk to reward ratio is about 7:1 (7 pips risked for
every 1 pip gained). However, the winning rate of the
trades is 95%. While I agree that the risk to reward
ratio is horrible, the high probability of winning
trades makes up for it.
2) What's up with the
trades that have 8x the lot size? This is a built in recovery system in Pips Miner. Most
of the time, when it takes a set of losing trades, the
next set of trades it enters at 8x the lot size. (for
example: normal lot size is .10, these recovery trades
are .80 lots). As you can see on our statements, 5 of
these "recovery trades" quickly recovers the the loss
from a set of losing trades. While this EA would be
profitable *without* those recovery trades, they help to
speed up the recovery process.
3) Can the 8x "recovery
trades" be disabled? Not
currently. This is an automated feature in the EA.
However, we did learn from the developers that if the EA
is turned off, disconnected, or restarted after those
losses are taken, it will "forget" about the losing
trades and will not enter the next set at 8x the lot
size. This explains why it doesn't happen sometimes in
our test accounts! (if our last set of eur/cad trades
had been at .80 lots, we would have made an additional
17% today alone!)
4) Does Pips Miner hedge?
Sometimes. For example, let's say you are in 2 sell
trades on the EUR/USD but the market starts to turn and
go up against you. During the next trading session, Pips
Miner may place buy trades expecting the EUR/USD to
continue rising. However, Pips Miner never hedges during
the same trading session, so if you close all your
trades each night you'll never hedge. (note: I have not
tested the performance achieved when closing all trades
every night, but I am planning on trying it soon!)
5) What broker will it work
on? Any broker with the
Metatrader 4 platform, that allows micro lots and
hedging. Choose Forex.com through BackBay FX if you have
a smaller account and need micro lots:

account that I started with $5,000 on May 26, it has
made over $500...not a super rocket, but slow and steady
and safe if you use it correctly:
It will always start with a buy or a sell of 0.01 lots.
It is not important if it is a buy or a sell. So
to make things easier I will change the 0.01 lots to 1
lot. That way the calculations are easier.
So let's say the robot goes long 1 lot. Then price goes
down against us. When price is 25 pips away a new order
is created for short 2 lots. Now let's say price goes a
little bit down and then retraces to our first entry.
Now a new buy order is created with 3 lots. At this
moment we are at break even for our 1st and 3rd entry
and we are losing 25 pips on our second entry of 2 lots.
If price now continues up for 50 pips we have 2 lots at
-75 pips = -150 pips and 4 lots (our 1st and 3rd entry
at +50 = 200 pips). If the robot closes all the trades
now we have a positive outcome of 50 pips.
At first you might think it is a martingale system
(where you double your trade amount every time your lose
till you have a profit) but in reality price moving
between a 25 pip range will pass from the break even
point and if the robot "sees" that too many trades are
generated will try to close all of them with a small
profit.
Now let's assume that price did not go up long enough
and is falling again. When it will reach our 2nd entry a
new short trade will be generated for 5 lots this time.
Price continues down for 40 pips. What is the result
now?
Our 1st and 3rd entry (4 lots) are now losing 65 pips =
-260 pips but our 2nd and 4th positions are winning. How
much? 7 lots x 40 pips = 280 pips. So with this 40 pip
move outside the range we have a 20 pip profit.
The robot is smarter than this and will not open a trade
every time the 25 pip is reached. Will do all the
calculations and move stop loss to protect capital.
The only risk with this robot is if price stays too long
in this 25 pip range and many trades are created. It is
also important to have a stable connection and a
computer that will not crash.
It's good to take profits
on a regular schedule. You do need a broker that
will hedge.
